At Chalmers Ford, we believe in investing in the future of New Mexico—on the road and beyond. That’s why, through our Chalmers Cares initiative, we’re proud to sponsor two $1,000 scholarships each year for students pursuing careers in agriculture, education, and business through the National FFA Scholarship Program.
This year, we’re thrilled to celebrate two exceptional students: Kyleigh Pilant-Phillips of Logan, NM and Madison Elwell of Cuba, NM. Both young women embody the work ethic, integrity, and leadership we value deeply at Chalmers Ford.
Meet Our 2025 Scholarship Recipients
Kyleigh Pilant-Phillips
Kyleigh is headed to Eastern New Mexico University this fall to study Accounting. A standout student from Logan, NM, Kyleigh graduates with a 4.16 GPA and ranks 6th in her class. She’s a four-year FFA member with a long list of accomplishments, including serving as District 2 Vice-President, competing on a Gold-rated National Parliamentary Procedures team, and being named an FFA State Champion in both Parliamentary Procedures and Conduct of Meetings. She’s also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.
Kyleigh has balanced her academic and FFA commitments with real-world work experience—from leading shifts at Subway to assisting with park maintenance and administrative work at local businesses.
“Receiving the Chalmers Ford FFA Scholarship is such an honor. I'm incredibly grateful for the support, and it encourages me to keep working hard and staying involved in my community. I’m excited to start this next chapter at ENMU and pursue a career in accounting.”
Madison Elwell
Madison will attend Adams State University in Colorado this fall, where she plans to major in Agricultural Education with a minor in Agricultural Business. As the 2024–2025 Valedictorian of Cuba High School and a four-year member of the National Honor Society, Madison has shown consistent academic excellence and leadership throughout her high school career, graduating with a 4.254 GPA.
Her passion for agriculture is equally impressive. Madison earned top honors at the New Mexico FFA level, including 1st Place Team Rank in Forestry CDE, 2nd Place in the Agriscience Fair (Animal Systems), and both 2nd and 3rd Place individual finishes in Forestry Career Development Events. Her commitment to education and agriculture is evident in every aspect of her journey.
“I’m so grateful to be selected for the Chalmers Ford FFA Scholarship. This support gives me the motivation to keep pursuing my goals and make a difference in the agricultural community. I can’t wait to take the next step at Adams State and work toward becoming an ag teacher.”
Both students were selected from thousands of applicants across the country, and we’re honored to play a small part in supporting their journeys.
“We’re incredibly proud to support these future leaders,” said Andy Strebe, General Manager at Chalmers Ford. “Agriculture is the backbone of our community, and these scholarships are one way we can help ensure its strength for years to come. Kyleigh and Madison give us a lot to be hopeful about.”
As the FFA shared in a recent article, scholarships like these can do more than ease the financial burden—they can unlock a lifelong passion for agriculture, education, and leadership. At Chalmers Ford, that’s the kind of impact we want to be part of.
